Become part of an international group of B&B owners exchanging rooms, experience and ideas.
Visiting other B&B’s will allow you not only to take a few days off but may give you valuable ideas and experience from learning how your colleagues work.
You pay by hosting other B&B owners which may give you additional inspiration and comments on how to improve your B&B.
Your first years’ membership will entitle you to a credit of 10 room nights in any participating B&B.
On becoming a member you will receive a credit of 10 points exchangeable for 10 room nights in any participating B&B.
Since you pay by points you can stay in any B&B of your wish - not only one that will accept a direct room swap.
When other B&B owners stay with you, you will earn 1 point for every room night of your hosting.
The network is open for owners of B&B’s, inns, boutique hotels and similar where the owners play an active role in running the business.
Travelling extensively we more and more often found ourselves in a situation of arriving at a new hotel only to start discussing what could have been made differently.
When we eventually came across a castle for sale we decided to buy it and to make a luxury B&B, trying to incorporate as many of our own ideas as possible.
We soon realized that the experience from visiting other hotels – in particular B&B’s and boutique hotels run by the owners is extremely valuable as it gives new ideas and solutions (and from time to time a showcase of what not to do as well).
This finally resulted in the B&B exchange concept promoting exchange of rooms and experience among owners of B&B’s or small boutique hotels.
Exchange websites is nothing new. We have been members of a few ourselves but we found that many members really had no desire to swap rooms, nor experience but only treated it as additional marketing.
We also found that by bringing everyone together from large hotels to small B&B’s or even hostels, the urge to swap was even smaller and the exchange of experience became meaningless. Furthermore, swapping directly between two hotel owners required both to want to stay with the other and finding such match was far from easy.
This is a pity since the experience that can be gained by visiting other B&B’s and discussing with their owners and by receiving such visits is invaluable.
